Appointment Preparation

Getting Ready for Your Appointment

A little preparation can make a big difference in both your comfort and your tattoo experience. Here are a few things we recommend before arriving for your appointment.

Eat Before Your Appointment

Please eat a full meal before arriving, especially if your appointment is expected to last several hours. Tattooing can be physically demanding, and eating beforehand helps maintain your energy and blood sugar levels.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment. Staying hydrated helps keep your skin in its best condition for tattooing.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Being well-rested can make a long tattoo session much more comfortable.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

Choose clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed while keeping you comfortable throughout your appointment. Keep in mind that ink may stain clothing, so avoid wearing anything you’re worried about getting dirty.

Bring Your ID

A valid government-issued photo ID is required for every appointment.

Feel Free to Bring…

Longer sessions are a great time to settle in. You’re welcome to bring:

  • Headphones

  • A book or Kindle

  • A fully charged phone

  • Snacks

  • A drink with a lid

  • A sweatshirt or light blanket if you tend to get cold

Avoid Alcohol & Recreational Drugs

Please avoid alcohol or recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Arriving sober is important for both your safety and the quality of your tattoo.

If you have questions about prescription medications or medical conditions, please discuss them with your artist before your appointment. Our usual recommendation is to ask your doctor when in doubt.

Need to Reschedule?

If something comes up, simply send your artist a message through Venue as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to find another appointment that works for you.

Feeling Nervous?

That’s completely normal.

Whether it’s your first tattoo or you’ve been tattooed many times before, it’s natural to feel a little nervous. Our goal is to create a comfortable, relaxed environment where you feel informed and at ease throughout the process.

If you have questions, concerns, or simply aren’t sure what to expect, don’t hesitate to let your artist know. We’re here to help.

Your Appointment

What to Expect

Whether you’re here for a small tattoo or a full-day session, our goal is to make your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Every appointment is a little different, but here’s what you can expect when you arrive.

Arriving for Your Appointment

Please arrive on time or no more than 5 minutes early. Your artist may still be preparing for your appointment or finishing with another client. Arriving on time helps us stay on schedule and ensures we’re ready to give you our full attention.

If you’re running late, please message your artist through Venue.

Reviewing Your Design

Before tattooing begins, you’ll have the opportunity to review your custom design with your artist.

Together, we’ll discuss placement, sizing, and any final adjustments to ensure you’re happy with the design before tattooing begins. Never hesitate to ask for a stencil to be moved or repositioned. We want you to feel confident before moving forward.

During the Tattoo

Once everything is finalized, your artist will prepare the area, and begin tattooing.

Everyone experiences tattooing differently, and some areas of the body are naturally more sensitive than others. If you need to stretch, grab a snack, use the restroom, or take a short break at any point, just let your artist know.

Guests & Children

To help maintain a comfortable and focused environment, we ask that clients attend appointments alone whenever possible.

If you’d like to bring one guest, please check with your artist ahead of time, as space may be limited.

Children are not permitted during tattoo appointments.

Communication

Tattooing is a collaborative process. If you have questions, concerns, or need a break at any point during your appointment, don’t hesitate to let your artist know. We’re here to make sure you feel comfortable from start to finish.

Before You Leave

Before you head out, your artist will:

  • Clean and bandage your new tattoo

  • Review your aftercare instructions

  • Answer any final questions

  • Let you know how to get in touch if you have questions during the healing process

Our goal is for you to leave feeling confident about both your tattoo and how to care for it.
